2013: The Year to Go Beyond

Tad Yamamoto

Happy New Year. New beginnings are powerful, and bring an opportunity to set the stage for peace, growth and prosperity in the year to come.

Turning the Corner

2012 was a year of much uncertainty, and for many this fueled a collective anxiety. In the U.S. we endured a long, hard-fought election, and stressed about the fiscal cliff. Global economies faltered, and the end of the world came and went. And we shared the pain and anguish suffered by so many in Superstorm Sandy and Sandy Hook.

With all of this swirling around us, it’s easy to become pessimistic. Fortunately, 2012 ended with our political and economic direction somewhat more settled.

Moving Forward with Positive Intention

So I believe this coming year, with our direction more stabilized, we will be able to achieve some peace of mind. Tranquility allows us to perform at our best, and gives us the energy we need to take on even the toughest challenges.

Yesterday, on the first day of 2013, I pledged to proceed with calmness and resolute focus on positive action. This is the path that enables all of us to take on new challenges and go beyond.

At Okuma America we’re proud and honored to serve the leaders of the CNC machining industry. We’ve witnessed firsthand your courage and determination, and your ability to create your own destiny. Okuma has assembled the brightest talent and the best CNC machine technology to support you in your path. We greet 2013 with optimism and readiness to help you capture new opportunities.

Go Beyond Business-as-Usual

In today’s reality, success will never be achieved with a business-as-usual approach. Okuma, along with our distributors and Partners in THINC, takes a fresh look at manufacturing processes, and engineers the shortest distance to maximizing profitability. Certainly this has a bottom-line impact, but even more exciting are the ways it ensures competitive advantage, and can open up new markets for our customers.

Go Beyond means that we embrace a way of operating with positive intention. The best path is not always easy to find. Okuma is ready and committed to helping you get there.

What are your intentions for 2013? Feel free to share your comments below. We welcome your thoughts and inspirations.
