Partners in THINC member Sandvik Coromant is organizing an event where participants will attempt to break a Guinness World Record at IMTS 2014. What will the record be? Will we be “jumping” on the bandwagon with the latest record-breaking craze – the most people popping bubble wrap? (This has been so popular, the record has been broken six times so far this year!) We’re not sure WHAT we’ll be doing, that’s top secret for now. But we do know, we need your help to raise awareness for a great cause.
Put Manufacturing in the Record Books
Sandvik’s goal is to raise public awareness of the importance of manufacturing to the U.S. economy and attract the next generation of workers to our industry. The event will take place in the Soldier Field parking lot, just a 5-10 minute walk from McCormick Place. All IMTS attendees are invited to stop by Tuesday, September 9 through Wednesday, September 10 to participate and help put manufacturing in the record books. As part of the official Guinness World Record attempt, Sandvik and various industry partners will also donate money to The Manufacturing Institute, a 501(c)3 organization focused on attraction, qualification, and development of world-class manufacturing talent.
Sandvik will release more details soon, so check out their website, Facebook page or @SandvikCoromant and stay tuned.
